Located in Southern Europe, Italy is bounded by France, Switzerland, Austria, and Slovenia. Their capital is Rome, which has been the center of the Catholic Church. The culture on Italy is a very important aspect, many traditions and customs that we now recognize as distinctly Italian can be identified by their regions of origin. In the visual art the most important painters are Italians, such as, Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Donatello, Botticelli, Raphael and others. In the literature we can found important poets, and the very recognized writer Dante Alighieri. In the science Galileo Galilei that stars the scientific revolution, Alessandro Volta the inventor of the electric battery, Guglielmo Marconi inventor of the radio and Antonio Meucci inventor of the telephone. In the music the opera is the most recognized. Also the instruments associated with classical music, including the piano and violin, were invented in Italy. Italy's most famous composers are Palestrina, Monteverdi, Corelli, Vivaldi, Paganini and Rossini.
